As a member of the wider Thanos family in the UK, I’m pleased to share some memories from the UK press trip I took to Anassa Hotel in Cyprus at the end of 2011. From the food to the pools, suites, spa and the beach, the group and I had a chance to experience the Thanos magic as you’ll see in my pictures.
We arrived in Cyprus and drove past the baths of Aphrodite right as the sun was about to set. So mesmerised were we by the breathtaking view, we had to stop for photos.
We went on to check into our suites at the beautiful Anassa Hotel. We all loved the chic style of our vast suites, not to mention the views of the sea from our balconies.
The next morning we hopped into an off-road Jeep up to the highest point, overlooking the Akamas Peninsula. It’s not often that I get a chance to enjoy an open air breakfast and I can assure you it was one to remember. Whilst we watched the sun rise, the team laid out an amazing spread of homemade pastries, cheeses, jams and more, all fresh from the Anassa kitchen that morning.
The day continued with a boat trip to the remote bays along the coastline from the hotel. The water was so clear – a beautiful turquoise blue that was so inviting we couldn’t resist the chance to jump in.
We went back to the hotel for a delicious dinner, roasted Cypriot lamb washed down with the local wine – whilst local dancers performed, eventually enticing us to join.
A beautiful sunset was the perfect end to a perfect day.
After exploring some island highlights, the rest of the press trip was spent making the most of the spa and the beach.
We had a chance to sample the new treatment packages and needless to say we were sad to have to say farewell.
We are all just hoping we can go back again next year!
